彼得兔的故事

　　小朋友们，你们读过毕翠克丝·波特创作的小动物童话吗？彼得兔、本杰明兔、格拉斯特市的小老鼠、平小猪、杰米玛鸭子……这些故事风靡全球，版本无数，销量以千万计。在英语国家里，几乎每个小孩都有过一两本《彼得兔》或者《汤姆小猫》。如果你们没有这些书，也不要哭鼻子哦，跟我来读彼得兔的故事吧，不过，千万小心，别笑疼了肚子！

　　从前有四只小兔子，它们名叫——耷拉、毛毛、棉尾巴和彼得。
　　它们和妈妈住在一堆沙丘里，在一棵巨杉树的根下面。
　　Once upon a time there were four little rabbits, and their names were-Flopsy,MopsyCotton-tail and Peter.
　　They lived with their mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir-tree.
　　“现在，宝贝儿们，”一天早上，兔子老太太说，“你们可以去地里头，去小路上，但是别去麦克格瑞革先生的园子里。”
　　“Now, my dears, ” said old Mrs.Rabbit one morning, “you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don’t go into Mr.McGregor’s garden.”
　　“你们的父亲在那里出过事儿——他被麦克格瑞革先生放进了馅饼里。”
　　“Your father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs.McGregor.”
　　“出去吧，可别淘气。我要出门了。”
　　“Now run along, and don’t get into mischief. I am going out.”
　　然后兔子老太太拿上篮子和伞，穿过树林去了面包店。她买了一方黑面包和五个有葡萄干的小面包。
　　Then old Mrs. rabbit took a basket and her umbrella, and went through the wood to the baker’s. She bought a loaf of brown bread and five currant buns.
　　耷拉、毛毛和棉尾巴，都是听话的兔宝宝，沿着小路去采黑莓。
　　Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail, who were good little bunnies, went down the lane to gather blackberries.
　　可是彼得，这个淘气鬼，径直朝麦克格瑞革先生的园子跑去，从大门下面硬挤了进去！
　　But Peter, who was very naughty, ran straight away to Mr.McGregor’s garden, and squeezed under the gate!
　　他先吃了一些莴苣叶子和法国豆，又吃了些小萝卜。
　　First he ate some lettuces and some french beans; and then he ate some radishes.
　　然后，他觉得挺恶心，就去找洋芹菜。
　　And then, feeling rather sick, he went to look for some parsley.
　　然而，从黄瓜架子尽头一拐过去，他碰到的不是麦克格瑞革先生还能是谁！
　　But round the end of a cucumber frame, whom should he meet but Mr.McGregor!
