语言和意识关系的认知神经科学新解

3.4 并非脑的所有活动都与意识有关
随着脑科学研究的日益深入，以及医学界对脑损伤患者研究知识的日益积累，很多人已经开 始认识到，人类的心理活动并非都是意识活动，我们也不可能意识到头脑中所发生的全部过 程。即使是对那些高级的认知活动的起源，我们也只能对其中某些比较活跃的意识活动或神 经活动有所觉察，而不可能觉察到所有的意识活动，更不用说无意识活动了。弗洛伊德通过 精神分析发现了人类的潜意识活动，超个人心理学通过对转换的意识状态（altered stateof consciousness）的研究，分离出多种不同的心理活动，其中的很多活动都不是我们清醒 的意识所能把握的。认知神经科学的大量研究也发现，脑的神经活动是相当迅速的，有些原 本能够被意识到的活动，经过长期的锻炼，变成了自动化的动作，在脑中只需一瞬间即可完 成，这些活动已经成为无意识的、自动化的信息加工，认知心理学关于内隐记忆的研究即是 明证。有学者认为，意识研究长期停滞不前，主要是对无意识的研究不够。而造成这种现象 的原因又主要是由于缺乏客观的科学指标。随着技术手段的不断发展，当代的ERP（事件相 关电位）技术在一定程度上为深入研究脑的信息加工提供了这种客观指标。我们有理由相信 ，随着脑科学和其他相关科学研究的深入，人类对意识和脑活动的关系会有更多的了解，从 而有助于揭示意识起源之谜。

The New Explanation of Cognitive Neuroscience
on the Relation between Language and Consciousness

AbstractAccording to the traditional point of view in psyc hology, only human b eings have thinking and consciousness. This is because thinking is the core of c onsciousness and consciousness must be mediated by language. The studies of cogn itive neuroscience on aphasics show that consciousness and thinking do not compl etely depend upon language. Aphasia can only have an influence on the extended c onsciousness. It does not impair the core consciousness. Even without the involv ement of language, the aphasics could still generate some kinds of nonverbal con scious activities with images. The research of cognitive neuroscience challengesthe traditional psychological ideas: Consciousness functions can be both unifie d and relatively independent. Not only human beings can have consciousness. Cons ciousness is not necessarily based on language. Not all the activities in brainare related to consciousness. Many of them are unconscious.
